Barricane invest in latest version of powerful solver add-in for Excel

Barricane have used the What's Best solver produced by Lindo Systems Inc for a number of years to solve complex optimisation problems encountered in logistics and supply chain modelling. We have just upgraded to the latest, most powerful version of the solver to allow even more complex problems to be solved with this excellent linear programming add-in for Microsoft Excel.

The solver allows optimum solutions to be found for complex problems that have multiple constraints. A good example would be to find the best allocation of customers to delivery depots to minimise delivery cost whilst adhering to depot throughput constraints.

The applications for this in logistics and supply chain are far reaching from developing optimum delivery territories through to cost to serve models to maximise revenue against a fixed transport fleet.
